Eiichi Otaki's album jacket "A LONG VACATION" won a gold disc as a special album jacket award from CBS Sony.
In September 2020, an exhibition of Nagai's works was held in Sydney, Australia.
Due to the worldwide popularity of "City Pop," especially in the 1980s, Nagai continues to actively hold exhibitions. He is known as a “music lover” and is also active as a DJ.
Endless blue sky and sea. A poolside flooded with sunlight. Hiroshi Nagai is a popular illustrator who has colored various scenes with designs for posters, advertisements, and record and CD jackets represented by the jacket for Eiichi Otaki's "A Long Vacation," a masterpiece of Japanese pop history that is still loved today.
Nagai's representative work "Time goes by..." has now been completed as a woodcut print by the printers and carvers at the Adachi Institute of Woodcut Prints. Utilizing the texture of Japanese paper that is unique to woodcut printing and expressing the transparency of the blue sky by making full use of “bokashi” color gradation that is a characteristic technique of traditional woodcuts, the prints are full of the appeal of woodcuts that are different from other types of prints.
