The Ukiyo-e is printed on Echizen kizuki hosho washi (a unique kind of Japanese paper) handmade by Ichibei Iwano, a living national treasure. This makes the vivid colors and the soft, warm textures of woodcut prints come to life.
This print, popularly known as "Hooper's Fuji", shows the conical mountain framed in the circle of a large tub. The etching-likedepiction of the rice-field in the center is aloso of interest. The location is the current Fujimi-cho of Naka Ward, Nagoya City.
