See the Actual Prints Up Close

The greatest appeal of woodcut prints created using traditional Japanese printing techniques is the brilliant colors. Woodcut prints from the Adachi Institute of Woodcut Prints are made by master artisans using washi paper and water-based pigments with the methods passed on from the Edo Period. At our showroom in Mejiro, located 10 minutes from the JR Mejiro Station, visitors can experience the allure of such woodcut prints.

The Adachi Institute of Woodcut Prints has created reproductions of some 1,200 works of ukiyo-e to date, as well as contemporary woodcut prints produced in collaboration with today's leading artists. Such works are exhibited and sold at our showroom. In addition, there is a permanent display demonstrating the production process of woodcut prints. Our staff plan and prepare special seasonal exhibits for our visitors to enjoy and look forward to welcoming you at our showroom.
